Custom Web Applications

In a shared hosting environment, it's often difficult and complicated to accommodate special requirements for operating environments. Every change to PHP or the RDBMS affects every site on the host. A Virtual Server is a closed environment, so just about any special need or request can be accommodated. Don't like AWStats? Need Ruby or a special Perl mod? Not a problem on a VM.

Short-term Servers

Sometimes you only need a server for a few months, or perhaps you have a grant and only need a server for the length of the disbursement. Why buy and house a box? We can set up a server usually in less than two working days that you can run on a month to month basis. When the project is over, we turn it off, give you a copy of the VM and you have no equipment to dispose of or old systems to decommission. This also works well with recurring sites or applications. Perhaps you only need a server for the Summer months each year. Now you only have to pay for the time you need.

Explore VMware

Want to see VMware in production, work with the tools and server manager, test for performance and manageability? This is a very inexpensive way to get your feet wet without committing to a license or long-term contract. You don't even need to buy any hardware. We'll be glad to talk with you about our infrastucture too.

Database and Server Replication

Repicate your production database or other server systems to a virtual machine for disaster recovery, backup or even failover.

Virtual Lab Environments

Create servers for your students or research projects that can be "reset" to original conditions on demand.
